Alllllllmost done

with the matterhorn hat.
i finally finished the tweed rib band yesterday morning and was able to get on to themain stockinette portion of the hat.
I was able to fly through that.
i made it to the crown decreases last night and found after just one set of decreases that i needed to already shift to dpns. alas ihad no 4 mm dpns... i had 5 mm, i had 3 mm. but no 5 mm. i was able to track down some 3.5 mm.  so i said wth i'll go with those.  almost all of the decreases are done now but i believe the crown decrease section is too short now. my row gauge and st gauge changed pretty drastically with the smaller needles so took up a lot less height than i had anticipated for the crown.
i'm going to go ahead and finish with these smaller needles and see how it fits but i might have to rip back to just before the decrease section... fingers crossed.....

So good to have you back podcasting! Have missed hearing about French culture from your point of view, as well as your knitting.
Bonne chance from Maine, USA.
