Sew mama sew giveaway

Hi there!
if you're new here, you've probably made your way over from the sew mama sew giveaway.
WELCOME :D
Just a quick intro : I'm an american living in France.  I love to knit crochet and spin though my knitting takes up most of my crafting time.  I'm also trying to learn to sew...TRYING :/
I blog (irregularly because i suck like that) about my life here in france : struggling with homesickness -yes, even after 15 years lol, raising kids with my DH as we fumble around trying to get this right, my crafting, my incessant weight loss battles and body image war, my job, my doggies...you know, just life :D !

If you're one of my knitting friends or family, you might not know about this  massive giveaway movement going on hosted by Sew mama sew.
I think this is an awesome initiative and super cool to have been started and perpetuated by sew mama sew.
i happen to have a pattern in double because i signed up for the pant construction AND pant fitting class on craftsy and each came with the same pant pattern lol.
I was going to give this away on my blog and whammo! before i could post it, i found out about this :D
serendipity ;D
So i threw in two other patterns i have in my small but quickly growing stash that i dont think i'll get around to.  and to top it off a bar of the most awesome and wonderful baking chocolate in the whole wide world just because i'm a choco-holic and because imho crafting of any sort goes hand in hand with...chocolate :D.  i will also send my favorite ever brownie recipe though eatcakefordinner.com has the best sweets recipes EVER! so you could check her out for some inspiration too ;D

To enter, you just have to leave a comment below by May 10 (i'll leave it open til the morning of the 11th since i'm in europe and it's still early on the tenth in the western parts of the world when i go to bed on the 10th.
I will ship internationally.

For comments you might could tell me who you are, what crafts you do and link to your blog if you have one.
Or maybe you could tell me your favorite ever pattern.
Or how about giving me an idea as to what color i could use to match a pencil skirt i'm going to make out of this fabric.
 Sans titre
i hope to get some color up next to my face instead of tan.  i'm an autumny colored person.
Or just whatever you'd like.

And dont forget to go over there and look at the other great giveaways.  Some of you knitting friends are avid quilters - there are a ton of giveaways of different fat quarters and charm packs and stuff.

Thank you Sewmamasew for hosting this.  Thank you all you generous givers. and thank YOU for stopping by.
Good luck to all :D

I love sewing and knitting, but I have never drafted my own pattern so am very impressed that you are able to do this! Your giveaway is very generous and I'd love to be put in for the draw. Hope you find a nice colour to go with the skirt fabric. I'd go with a deep teal.

Ooh, I have had my eye on that Barcelona Skirt for ages! I started sewing almost 2 years ago and have knit for about 10 years. I put off learning how to sew for ages because I didn't want it to take away from my knitting time but now I am glad I took the plunge!

I just started sewing and still building up my stash of patterns... I'd go with red to match your black and white polka dots. I've always loved that combination :)
Thanks for the opportunity!

Nice to find another 'Europe-based' blogger. I am addicted to garment sewing! My latest struggle has been perfecting fit on my sleeves and shoulders... As for the color to go with your skirt...I love neutrals so you could try a black tank top. that way all the attention could would go to the skirt. I blog at Sewing Princess. Thanks for a gorgeous giveaway

How about color blocking it with black .. Polka and black will look great on your skirt. I love drafting skirts too..

Purple... everything matches purple!

I sew and knit. My favorite pattern is the Oliver and S Jump Rope dress. It just looks so adorable and classic. We won't talk about how many I've made.

The fabric you've picked for your pencil skirt would look fabulous with any primary colored top. Pick any bright solid and you'll look fab. Red, blue, yellow, green, orange, etc. There's no bad choice there.

I knit and sew! I've never drafted my own pattern. I'd go with red, but I am a red fanatic.

I keep telling people chocolate is essential with crafting too! I've never had much luck with yarn crafts, but give me fabric and I'm there!

I love to sew, enter sweepstakes and read. Very nice giveaway you have here, thanks!

My first love is knitting and close second is sewing. I am not a blogger, I spend enough time online as it is, since I can neither scroll nor type while knitting or sewing :)
I hope to start sewing more for myself, I sew mainly for my 7-year-old daughter.

Beth said...

Love to quilt and have done some garment sewing but I have wanted that Barcelona skirt for ages. That one will get me to sew it up!

Michelle Frame said...

I like to sew clothes for my daughters. I have sewn a few for myself. I would use an aqua color to go with that fabric.

Susan @ MadebyMommainPA.Blogspot.Com said...

I think you should consider a emerald green top for your pencil skirt. It's supposedly the "hot" color this year.

What a great giveaway-thanks for the opportunity- right now I'm sewing costumes for my daughter- she's playing Elizabeth Bennet in Pride and Prejudice- so I guess they are my faborites right now- it changes with what I need to make for her but she can wear anything so she's fun to sew for. If the polka dots are deep purple (can't tell) I'd go with a warm gold, if they are black- cherry red!

Great giveaway! I sew and quilt (and make brownies:) Thanks for the chance!

I am a beginner sewer and would love these patterns.

Pat V. said...

I am a quilter, but could use some new clothes...

How about a deep green top to go with this skirt, with maybe a gold accent?

Unknown said...

A great, rich blue or green would be fabulous with the polka dot black and white. Or, if you can wear bright yellows or oranges, which I know look awful on me, those might be even more awesome.
Thanks for hosting this giveaway. And because you're also offering something to do with chocolate, that makes this my most favorite giveaway!

I think you can't eat red with black & white polka dots, but pink is awful nice too. Or get on board the neon trend (is that "in" in Europe too?) and do electric blue or lime green!

I'm commenting on the pencil skirt question. If the dots are black (every computer shows color just a bit different) I'd say having an accent trim of red or pink always is pretty! If it's brown, a light blue could be gorgeous. It depends on what color shirts you may be wearing with it.

Thanks for offering up a fantastic prize in the giveaway!

How about a turquoise top? I bet it would look nice with your coloring and great with the black and white. I bought a couple of craftsy classes-one on making perfect jeans and the other on making a dress to fit. I have issues getting clothes to fit me. I haven't begun them yet.

Lots of questions! :) I'm in Wisconsin, USA. I knit, crochet, make cards - and even sew a little when I have the time. I don't have a favorite pattern, but I'd choose a bright pink or yellow to go with that polka dot pencil skirt (or really any of the colors on your website background!)

It must be some fun to live in France.
I understand the homesick part though.
I live in Oregon and have been sewing my entire life. I also love to fly so my blog is full of flowers, flying and fabric.
Thanks for the giveaway.

I can't make out what color the dots are on your pencil skirt fabric. If you can get your hands on a color wheel, try using the color opposite of what the dots are.
