knit knit knit :D

i just finished a hat that i am sooooooooo proud of! i think it looks so good and i love the colors and it's the first time i have ever succeeded in doing fair isle (after about 3 other attempts)

i knit it for a guy at work who threw a quick "will you make me a hat" one day at work in front of a lot of people and well, i blurted out yes and...well, too late to take it back...grrrr....
but the hat turned out so pretty i dont mind. i gave it to him yesterday and he really loved it. he offered to pay for the yarn and i said not to worry about it. but after work i couldnt start my car because i had left the lights on so i called the ICU to have Sam come down and jump it off so i told him he had paid for his hat after all in services rendered lol ; )
and guess what? Christophe wants one almost just like it - he wants his longer of course - to cover the ears. sam had only wanted a skull cap.
guess i know what i'll be knitting on th eairplane ;)

i also finished the shawl for christophe's aunt.
i'm more or less happy about it

christophe helped me block it. i couldnt believe that! he's really finally opening up to my knitting! asking me to knit for his aunt, helping me pick out yarn and pattern for it, wanting me to knit him a hat, helping with blocking! cant believe it!!!!

we put up the tree last night. the kids were so excited! they have been begging me ever since the beginning of the week since we do it the weekend after thanksgiving.

Becca! It sounds like things are going pretty well in France! I'm smiled from ear to ear reading your post. The kids looked so happy in the pictures and .....way to go Christophe! :)

Wow that fair isle hat is fab! Great job, and how kind of you to knit this for your colleague.

I really love the shawl for Christophe's aunt as well - gorgeous colours. Why are you only more or less happy with it? I think it's a beautiful shawl.

I'm so glad things are better for you! You really sound happier. I totally know what you mean about having the MOTH share in our enthousiasm for fiber arts. :)

I'm so sorry I couldn't come to the last Stammtisch and I missed seeing you - and I won't be able to come to next Saturday's Tricot Thé either, as it again falls on the same day as our monthly rehearsal weekend. Bah! The concerts are worth it but I could really do with more R&R these days - and I would love to be able to spend more time chatting with les tricoteuses de Montpellier.

You must be so excited to be going home so soon for the holidays :)

I my goodness! That is so cool. I love the hat. No wonder Christophe is wanting one. I still haven't figures out how to keep the right tension in Fair Isle. Maybe I'll try it again?

Your kids putting up the tree is so cute. We put up ours yesterday too.
